Grade Requirement

Students majoring in art must achieve a minimum grade of “C-” in all of the required courses within the art program, repeating courses if necessary to achieve the required grade.

Program Requirements

Foundation courses (12 credits)

Additional required courses (6 credits)

ARTH 104 - Survey of Art from the 14th Century to the Present
ARTS 225 - Drawing II
ARTS 404 - Studio Art Writing Designated in the Major (0 credit; CWRM only when taken concurrently with a designated advanced art studio course)

Concentration courses (12 credits)

ARTS 403 - Convergent Media Projects
Complete three additional courses, selected from the following:
ARTS 204 - Video Art
ARTS 205 - Three-Dimensional Modeling
ARTS 206 - Animation
ARTS 215 - Global Studio Art Study Tour I (when relevant to New Media)
ARTS 267 - Web Art I
ARTS 301 - Web Art II
ARTS 415 - Global Studio Art Study Tour II (when relevant to New Media)
ARTS 498 - Internship in Art

Art History electives (9 credits)

Complete three art history (ARTH) courses. At least one course must be in global art history, selected from the list below. (Note: ARTH 101 may not be applied to this requirement.)

Studio Art electives (9 credits)

Complete three courses, other than those completed to to meet concentration requirements above, selected from the following:
