Department: Art and Art History  

Students majoring in education must refer to the Educator Preparation and Licensure Policies and Procedures  section of this catalog for specific requirements and consult with Associate Professor John Hooker for additional information.

Grade Requirement


Students majoring in art must achieve a minimum grade of “C-” in all of the required courses within the art program, repeating courses if necessary to achieve the required grade.

Course Requirements


Additional required courses (3 credits)


Studio art electives (12 credits)


Complete at least four additional studio art (ARTS) courses at the 200-level or above.

Please note: ARTS 230 - Painting I , ARTS 240 - Sculpture I ARTS 255 - Printmaking I , ARTS 260 - Graphic Design I , and ARTS 270 - Ceramics I  are recommended electives.

Total minimum credits: 42

A minimum of 120 earned credit hours is required for graduation.
