PHYS 409 - General Relativity and Cosmology

(3 credits)
Prerequisite: PHYS 401 with a minimum grade of “C-“
Students learn Einstein’s general theory of relativity, and the role differential geometry and general covariance play in physics in this course. The class includes significant discussions of modern cosmology, experimental evidence for relativity, and the results of current and ongoing astrophysical measurements. Offered either semester. May be taken for graduate-level credit.
