BIOL 328 - Stream Ecology(4 credits) Prerequisite: MATH 140/140E or MATH 150; and MATH 141 or MATH 161/161E; and BIOL 225 with a minimum grade of “C-“; and CHEM 131 or CHEM 141, which may be taken concurrently; or consent of instructor This course examines factors affecting the population size and distribution of aquatic organisms in streams and the biotic indices used to assess stream communities. Laboratory and field projects apply basic skills of organism identification, biotic indices and GIS to investigate aquatic communities of a local river. Three hours of lecture and one three-hour laboratory per week. Offered every other year in the fall semester. (CWRM)
