CRJU 280 - Environmental Criminology(3 credits) Prerequisite: CRJU 201 and CRJU 202; or consent of instructor This course will introduce students to the principles of environmental criminology. Emphasis will be placed on crime events (robberies, burglaries) and the interactions of their corresponding components: victims, offenders and places. Students will further examine how the criminal justice system works with those organizations outside of the criminal justice community (e.g., social service agencies, educational institutions, political agencies and community organizations) in developing effective crime prevention initiatives. Offered annually.
