CRJU 521 - Domestic Violence(3 credits) Prerequisite: CRJU 500, which may be taken concurrently This course provides an overview of the causes of domestic violence and the criminal justice system’s response to domestic violence. Topics covered include psychological, sociological and feminist theories of domestic violence; the nature of domestic violence in a patriarchal society; resources available for victims of domestic violence; and the efficacy of various approaches to reducing domestic violence.
