CRJU 404 - Media, Justice and Crime(3 credits) Prerequisite: CRJU 201 and an additional three-credit criminal justice course This course is a survey of how various media institutions (newspapers, magazines, talk radio, network television, cable, film and Internet-based products) and formats (news, entertainment and infotainment) shape the representation and public perception of dangerousness, criminality, police activity and ultimately, the direction of contemporary social policy. Offered alternate years, spring semester.
