PHIL 213 - Philosophies of China and Japan(3 credits) Prerequisite: One 100-level, three-credit course in philosophy This course examines some of the central ideas and issues found in past and contemporary Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism and Shintoism, especially as they illuminate Asian/Western misunderstandings and relationships. Emphasis will be placed on concepts of moral value, human nature, salvation, harmony and pluralism. Offered alternate years. (CGCL; CHUM; CWRT)
