The university offers a multidisciplinary minor in urban affairs under the auspices of the anthropology, geography, economics, history, political science, psychology and sociology and criminal justice departments. The primary purpose of this minor is to provide students with a broader understanding of and sensitivity to the complex problems facing the urban environment through the combined efforts of different disciplines at the university. The minor, through its internship program, is designed to provide students with an opportunity for direct contact and work in fields such as urban planning, urban government, social welfare, social psychology and urban education.

Some examples of internships, which are assigned according to the abilities, interests and background of the student and the current needs of the cooperating communities or agencies, are:

Department of Geography

Department of History
