Bioethics Minor


The Minor in Bioethics is designed for students interested in thinking deeply about biology, medicine, and health care, and especially for those planning careers in the health professions and in biomedical research. Studying bioethics deepens students’ understanding of science and its impact on our lives; promotes critical thinking; and allows students to better grasp the intersections between science, technology, health, human lives, and the environment.

Course Requirements


Elective courses (3 credits)


Complete at least one of the following: or any BIOL course at the 300-level or above** (Elective courses may require prerequisite courses.)

**Students who choose to take BIOL 314 as a required course may not also use BIOL 314 to meet the elective course requirement.
