Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics Minor

Department: Computer Science

The cybersecurity and digital forensics minor provides students with a strong technical foundation in computer science in forensics investigations on digital devices. The program includes a modern approach to network security, information security, digital forensics and cybersecurity incident response. As security breaches have become unfortunately common, the demand for cybersecurity professionals is growing, not only in law enforcement but in private industry as well. This program helps students gain a holistic perspective on the field of cybersecurity to prepare students to contribute to this important area.

Students can declare only one minor among the following three: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, and Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics.

 

Computer Science Laptop Requirement


All students enrolled in this program are required to own a laptop that meets minimum hardware and software specifications. These specifications are published on the department website.

Course Requirements


Required courses (10 credits)


Electives (9 credits)


Complete three courses, selected from the following:

  • Any cybersecurity and digital forensics (CYBF) courses at the 300-level or above

Total minimum credits: 19
