Adapted Physical Education/Activity Minor
|

The Minor in Adapted Physical Education/Activity is designed to enable students to plan and advocate for developmentally appropriate physical activities for all people. Emphasis in this minor will prepare students for careers in the K-12 school system, as well as community, recreation and fitness programs/centers. Students will take theory into practice across this minor, where disability and content knowledge will be applied in experiential learning opportunities. The approach aims to build students competence and confidence within this field. This minor can prepare students to be eligible for the APENS (Adapted Physical Education National Standards) exam to become a Certified Adapted Physical Educator (CAPE).
