Restorative and Transformative Justice, Graduate Certificate

The Restorative and Transformative Justice Graduate Certificate program will provide students with essential skills to work within the cutting edge movement of restorative justice and transformative justice. Restorative justice focuses on the harm, the needs of individuals involved, and the larger community’s role in addressing the root causes of crime and aiding in the healing process. Transformative justice incorporates restorative justice principles and practice in a process where everyone affected by an injustice are given the opportunity to address and repair harm and conflict in the community. After being introduced to restorative justice concepts, theories and philosophy, students will explore cutting edge approaches to restorative justice and transformative justice.

The courses in the certificate program will count toward the Criminal Justice MS degree.

BSU faculty are in the forefront of innovative practice of restorative justice and will engage students in research while simultaneously offering a pragmatic approach.

Admission Requirements


Rolling admission for fall, spring and summer enrollment.
