Physics, Secondary Education Concentration, BS

The Physics, Secondary Education concentration is for those interested in teaching high school physics or pursuing a graduate program in physics education. In this concentration, students will have added experience in pedagogy and physics pedagogical content knowledge. Students must also complete a double major in Secondary Education and student teach along with passing the Physics MTEL®.

Successful completion of both programs will lead to Massachusetts Initial Teacher Licensure. Please refer to the Educator Preparation and Licensure Policies and Procedures section of this catalog for specific teacher licensure and program requirements.

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) provides a list of subject matter knowledge that is required for license. The list is available at www.doe.mass.edu/lawsregs/603cmr7.html.
