Department: Health and Kinesiology
This major prepares students for career opportunities in health and fitness in such settings as industry, hospitals, agencies, education and human service organizations. Emphasis is on human performance and cardiovascular health, which includes physical health evaluation, graded exercise tests, exercise prescription and physical activity program development. A field experience off campus in a setting identified above is an important aspect of this major.

Grade Requirement
Students must achieve a minimum grade of “C-” in all physical education core and activity courses.
Students must maintain a minimum overall GPA of 2.5 or higher to enroll in PHED 498, and they must have an overall minimum GPA of 2.5 to graduate in the major.
