Department: Health and Kinesiology
The goal of the concentration in Athletic Performance and Health Fitness Leadership is to broadly prepare students with the ability to apply foundational knowledge and skill across multiple sport- and health-fitness related scientific disciplines, to promote physical literacy, to instill best practices and suggest evidence-based training practices through the process and application of scientific research, and to become competent and confident practitioners and leaders within the discipline.

Grade Requirement
Students must achieve a minimum grade of “C-” in all physical education core and activity courses. Physical Education Core courses (28-29 credits)
Health cognate (3 credits)
Complete one of the following: Theory and Practice and Activity courses (8 credits)
Activity electives
A minimum of four additional credits are required. See Activity Courses by Area to view the full list of options. Concentration courses (18 credits)
Complete two courses, selected from the following: Additional concentration electives
Complete two courses for a minimum of six credits from any 300-or 400-level course in HEAL, NUTR and/or PHED. Total minimum credits: 57
Core Curriculum Requirements
A minimum of 120 earned credit hours is required for graduation.
