Learning Outcomes  

Grade Requirement


Students must receive a minimum grade of “C-” in each required Sociology seminar (SOCI 300 - Seminar: Social Theory , SOCI 390 - Seminar: Research Methods in Sociology , SOCI 391 - Seminar: Social Data Analysis ) and the capstone options (SOCI 485 - Honors Thesis in Sociology , SOCI 496 - Senior Seminar: Critical Issues in Sociology , SOCI 497 - Research  and SOCI 498 - Internship in Sociology ).

Additionally, to graduate with the sociology major, students must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 in the major.

Social Justice/Diversity Focus (3 credits)


Complete one course, selected from the following:

Schools and Students Focus (6 credits)


Complete two courses, selected from the following:

Sociology (6 credits)


Complete two additional sociology (SOCI) courses at the 200-level or above.

Total minimum credits: 36


Core Curriculum Requirements


A minimum of 120 earned credit hours is required for graduation.
