Learning Outcomes  

Grade Requirement


To qualify for graduation with a degree in psychology, the student must have a major grade point average of 2.5 or higher. Additionally, a minimum grade of “C” in  PSYC 201 - Statistics for Psychology , PSYC 204 - Research Methods I: Introducing Research  and PSYC 304 - Research Methods II: Conducting Research  is required for the major.

Course Requirements


Advanced Courses (12 credits)


Complete four additional advanced courses, according to the following distribution:

Advanced topics in cognition and learning or biopsychology


Complete one course, selected from the following:

Advanced topics in developmental, sociocultural or clinical


Complete one course, selected from the following:

Capstone courses


Choose one of the following or a second course from the advanced topics courses listed above:

Additional elective


Complete one additional psychology (PSYC) course.

Cognate course (4 credits)


Complete one biology laboratory course, selected from the following:

Note:


First Year Seminar and Second Year Seminar may not be applied to the requirements of the psychology major.

Total minimum credits: 44


Core Curriculum Requirements


A minimum of 120 earned credit hours is required for graduation. These earned hours include the Core Curriculum Requirements as specified in the Core Curriculum section of this catalog and at the Core Curriculum website, www.bridgew.edu/corecurriculum.
