The TESOL minor is designed for undergraduate students and prepares them to teach English as a second/foreign language in schools, language centers, colleges and community organizations in the U.S. and internationally. The TESOL minor delivers a balanced foundation of theory, knowledge, skills and professional tools, and includes such domains as strategies for multilingual learners, linguistics for English as a Second/Foreign Language (ESL/EFL), cultural issues in TESL/TEFL, and methodology in TESL/TEFL. This minor does not lead to licensure as an educator by the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
