This undergraduate program combines courses in health, science and wellness to assist in preparing students for a versatile career in a large interdisciplinary health care field. The Health Science major is also a pathway for students intending to pursue post-baccalaureate studies within the allied health professions such as athletic training, physical therapy and occupational therapy, to name a few. For those students wishing to pursue postbaccalaureate course work in an allied health care discipline (i.e., athletic training, physical therapy, occupational therapy), they must understand each respective institution will require specific course work as well as GPA requirements. The Health Science program set forth by BSU will meet a majority of said programs; however, students are responsible for becoming acquainted with requirements of their respective postbaccalaureate programs.
Students have the opportunity to declare a concentration within the major. To be eligible, a student must have completed a minimum of 45 credits and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA in all HLSC courses as well as maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
