Physics, Professional Physics with Applied Physics Concentration, BS

The Professional Physics with Applied Physics Concentration is offered for those interested in formalizing additional expertise and knowledge in the field of Applied Physics to meet, in part, the needs of BSU students seeking Applied Physics and Engineering opportunities in related industries, graduate programs and other interests.

Course Requirements

Core courses (28 credits)

Electives (11 credits)

Complete at least 11 credits, selected from the following:

PHYS 396 - Research Problems in Physics (3 credits)*
or PHYS 485 - Honors Thesis in Physics (3 credits)*
PHYS 422 - Computer Simulation in Physical Science
PHYS 442 - Digital Electronics I
PHYS 490 - Engineering Statics and Dynamics with CAD
PHYS 499 - Directed Study in Physics (approved one credit Machine Shop)
*Note: Up to three credits of Applied Physics/Engineering related course work in PHYS 396 or PHYS 485 may be applied to the elective requirement.
