POLI 518 - Public Policy for Public Administration(3 credits) Prerequisite: POLI 501 This course offers students an in-depth look at the evolution of a range of policy issues. Special attention is paid to health care, Social Security, welfare, education, environmental and economic policies. The role of public administrators in designing, implementing and evaluating public policy will be a central focus on this course. The course material/readings will also touch on each branch of U.S. government as well as the distinct role of the states, and how they have influenced each of these policy areas over time. Offered fall semester.
