CHEM 241 - Quantitative Chemical Analysis(4 credits) Prerequisite: CHEM 142 with minimum grade of “C-“ The classical and modern methods for the quantitative analysis of organic and inorganic compounds, including volumetric, gravimetric, spectroscopic and chromatographic methods. Topics covered include acid-based, solubility and complex-formation equilibria, as well as an introduction to spectroscopy and chromatography. Three hours of lecture and one three-hour laboratory weekly. Offered spring semester.
