ANTH 311 - The Emergence of Cities

Prerequisite: ANTH 103 or consent of instructor
This course will use game-based learning and U.N. Sustainable Development Goals to transform student learning and connect students to larger global issues. Students will examine the transition from foraging to agricultural subsistence-based societies. Other topics include the development of the world’s first urban centers, and what the problems and issues of the past can teach us about the problems which modern cities face. Offered alternate years. (CGCL; CMCL; CSOC)
