SOCI 211 - Homelessness in U.S. Society(3 credits) This course will explore the causes of and possible solutions to homelessness as a feature of contemporary life in urban, suburban and rural settings. The course will also examine homelessness in the context of what home means for us as individuals and as a society. Although home means different things for different people, it is generally understood as a socializing force that shapes how we understand both the world and ourselves. This course examines cultural conceptions of home as an anchor for personal identity. Offered fall semester. (CDSJ; CSOC; CWRT)
