CNGC 534 - Ethical and Legal Issues in the Counseling Professions

(3 credits)
Prerequisite: Matriculation in the MEd or postmaster’s program in counseling; or consent of instructor
This course is designed to provide students with an in-depth exploration of ethical, legal, and professional issues related to the counseling professions. Professional and ethical standards, ethical decision-making models, social justice, and advocacy will be explored. Course topics will include professional identity, roles and functions across specialized practice areas, and credentialing an licensure. Minimum grade of “B-” to be considered passing. Offered annually.
