SOJU 200 - Introduction to Social Justice Studies

(3 credits)
This course will provide students with a foundation for the interdisciplinary field of Social Justice. The study of Social Justice involves an ongoing journey for justice and includes active resistance to injustice. Interrogating broad questions, this course encourages students to think critically and expansively about local, national and international conditions of humanity. As the foundation for the Social Justice minor, this course explores social justice concepts, studies the intersecting systems of oppression, and examines issues and actions related to challenging injustice. This exploration of social justice enables students to gather information and develop the necessary analytical tools to address and challenge injustice in its multiple forms. Offered annually.
