BIOL 541 - Molecular, Cellular and Biochemistry Research Techniques

(4 credits)
Prerequisite: Matriculation in the Master of Science in Biology or consent of instructor
This course is an introduction to molecular, cellular and biochemical research methods used in the biomedical sciences, with emphasis on learning the tools of the trade with application to a scientific problem. Specific topics include experimental design with focus on cell culture as well as nucleic acid- and antibody-based techniques. Emphasis will be placed on technical skills as well as interpretation and writing of results as are presented in the professional literature. Offered fall semester. Additional fee required
