COMP 588 - Thesis

(3 credits)
Prerequisite: Consent of the department; formal application required. Students are encouraged to do a literature search on the theses topic as a COMP-503 directed study the semester before taking this course.
In this course the student will propose, develop and present an original project that makes a contribution to current research in computer science. A proposal should be approved by a faculty advisor and thesis committee prior to registering for the course. The course culminates with an oral defense, and must include a written thesis approved by a thesis committee and delivered to the graduate school. Successful completion of a thesis serves as an exit requirement for the MS in Computer Science program.
