TESL 207 - The Politics of Language in Cape Verde and the U.S.

This course examines the politics of language policies in Cape Verde and the effects of these policies on students migrating to the United States, as well as on the educators and schools charged with educating them. Using readings, interviews and digital material, students consider the importance of the role of language in post-colonial societies. Offered annually.
