THEA 326 - Applied Theatre and Community Engagement

(3 credits)
Prerequisite: THEA 220 or THEA 226
In this course, students will explore and employ the uses and social effects of applied theatre for community engagement outside of traditional theatre spaces. Through collaborative exploration in class and investigation of theatre practitioners, students will develop an understanding of how theatre can be a catalyst for discussion, education, change and health promotion. Students will take their work outside of the classroom to participate in practical application of community engagement through applied theatre. Offered alternate spring semesters.
