POLI 342 - Constitutional Law and Politics: The First Amendment

(3 credits)
This course examines major court decisions involving disputes pertaining to the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. In particular, cases regarding freedom of speech, the press, religion, and the right to associate will be extensively studied. The course also considers the broad limits placed on the government by the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause. Offered alternate years.
