CRJU 150 - Orientation to the Criminal Justice Major

This course is an introduction to the department, its faculty and courses, with an emphasis on career planning and student development. The students will be introduced to the major issues in criminal justice with an emphasis on the relationship between social science and practice in understanding criminal justice phenomena, and the value of the liberal arts to a career in criminal justice. The main objective is to provide interested students with the necessary information to be successful undergraduates majoring in criminal justice. All criminal justice majors must complete this course during their first year as a degree-seeking criminal justice major. Non-criminal justice majors do not need to enroll in this course as a prerequisite for CRJU 201 and/or CRJU 202. Graded on (P) Pass/(N) No Pass basis. Offered fall and spring semesters.
