MUSC 365 - Jazz Theory

Prerequisite: MUSC 372; and one of the following which may be taken concurrently: MUSC 221, MUSC 222, MUSC 223, MUSC 224, MUSC 225, MUSC 226, MUSC 231 or MUSC 241
Through written and practical exercises, students learn to recognize and manipulate the melodic, harmonic rhythmic and formal elements of jazz and contemporary music. Topics include chords, scales, voicing and song forms. Offered alternate fall semesters.
