This course focuses on the study of the neural processes underlying human cognition and perception. How does the brain’s neural organization and functional connectivity give rise to human cognitive and perceptual abilities, such as sensory perception, learning, attentional regulation, memory, language, music and emotions? This question is addressed in the context of cognitive neuroscience research, which makes use of varied methodologies, including single cell recordings, animal models, brain imaging techniques and patient studies.
