CRJU 323 - Comparative Legal Systems in a Global Context(3 credits) Prerequisite: CRJU 101 This course provides students with an understanding of the fundamental principles and practices of non-U.S. legal systems. The course will assess historical legacies, along with origins of law and the development of key legal institutions. The intent is to foster greater comprehension of different legal systems in an interdependent world. The course will begin by examining legal systems with Western qualities, followed by an examination of legal systems not constructed on Western suppositions. Comparisons will be cross-national, and will be informed by increased knowledge of non-U.S. legal systems. Offered alternate fall semesters. (CGCL)
