BIOL 450 - Virology

Prerequisite: BIOL 200 with a minimum grade of “C-” or consent of instructor
Corequisite: BIOL 450L
This course is an introduction to the study of viruses including bacteriophages and animal viruses. Viral structure and mechanisms of action are considered at the molecular level, and emphasis is placed on viral replication strategies. Three hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory weekly. Offered alternate fall semesters. Additional fee required. May be taken for graduate-level credit.
