CYGR 569 - Special Topics in Cybersecurity and Justice: Victims in the Online Era(3 credits)
The development of computers and the Internet have transformed the lifestyle of people. We enjoy the convenience and efficiency of technology and embrace it every day, from banking to social networking to retail shopping to working to education. These significant advancements in technology and cyberspace also open another door for criminals and offer an opportunity to expand traditional crime to cyberspace while generating new crime types.With increased dependency and new opportunities for criminals, this course discusses different theoretical issues of online victimization, types of online victimization, current legal and regulations, and the latest issues in the field.
