CYGR 503 - Cyber Ethics(3 credits) This course will examine the ethical issues that arise as a result of the increasing use of computers, and the responsibilities of those who work with computers, either as cybersecurity professionals or end users. The course will highlight the ways in which computers challenge traditional ethical and philosophical concepts and raise issues. The readings will not only discuss different theories and methods regarding cyber ethics in cybercriminal justice, but they also touch upon technical issues in cybercrime, cybersecurity intelligence and computer science such as cybercrime, privacy, intellectual property rights and proprietary software, security, accountability, liability, the digital divide, hacking and viruses. Offered annually.
