READ 641 - Literacy, Language and Diversity

(3 credits)
Prerequisite: Matriculation in EdS in Reading; restricted to cohort members
Candidates develop their understanding of literacy research and practices that support diverse learners. Candidates explore literacy and language practices that address the cultural and linguistic diversity of students in today’s schools. This course engages candidates in self-reflection, discussion and curriculum evaluation regarding their own literacy practices, beliefs and biases towards student literacy learning. Offered fall and spring semesters.
