BIOL 588 - Graduate Thesis in Biology(1-3 credits) Prerequisite: Consent of department; formal application required Students will engage in original research with a mentor within the department in their chosen field of study. Faculty mentors and graduate students will have the opportunity to work together on an original research question over several semesters. Each semester, each student will submit a written report that demonstrates appropriate progress toward completion of a written thesis. In the final semester of the student’s degree program, they will produce the final draft of the thesis and must pass an oral thesis defense. A thesis proposal must be submitted to and approved by the student’s Graduate Committee and the College of Graduate Studies in order to register for the course. Repeatable: may earn a maximum of 10 credits.
