ELED 315 - Teaching All Learners Grades PK-6: Field Experience I

Prerequisite: Acceptance into Professional Ed and junior status and passing score on Communication and Literacy MTEL® and a cumulative 2.8 GPA; and ECED 230 or ELED 220 or SPED 202
Corequisite: ELED 305 and ELED 314

Teacher candidates participate in a field experience consisting of direct engagement with early childhood and elementary students in authentic instructional settings. Teaching candidates will have the opportunity to practice, to be observed and to receive feedback on teaching. Teaching candidates will translate theory into practice with developmentally appropriate instructional methods for teaching individual children and/or small groups. Field placements will be off campus in public elementary schools serving students of diverse populations in appropriate grade levels for candidates’ licensure levels. Teacher candidates will be required to submit a Criminal Offenders Record Information (CORI) and fingerprints to the school districts they are placed in. Offered fall and spring semesters.
