PHED 370 - Adolescent Development for Physical Activity Leaders(3 credits)
Prerequisite: PHED 210 or PHED 217; and PSYC 100 or SOCI 102; or consent of instructor
This course uses a cultural competence approach to work with pre-adolescents, adolescents and emerging adults. Students will use a holistic socio-psychological lens to understand adolescent development and explore coaching/teaching/leading strategies for working with this population in a variety of program settings including physical education, athletics, after school-based, camp, fitness and recreation programs. Offered fall semester.
