ELED 317 - Research in Elementary and Early Childhood Education

(3 credits)
Prerequisite: ELED 220 and ELED 305
This course will explore research from the perspective of the educator as researcher as well as practitioner. This course will provide an introduction to research methods, qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis and the presentation of research results. The significance of research to advance the field of education, to inform evidence-based practice and to use findings to effect programmatic change will be covered. Upon the successful completion of this course, students will have created and implemented a comprehensive research project using both qualitative and quantitative methods and will be prepared to share that research with the greater university community. Offered spring semester.
