CRJU 534 - Peacemaking Criminology(3 credits) Peacemaking criminology is a non-violent movement against oppression, social injustice and violence as found within criminology, criminal justice and society in general. It considers crime as a product of a social, economic and political structure that disadvantages certain groups of people. This course will explore the indigenous foundation of peacemaking circles, the role of prisons in society and the transformation of institutions and individuals. Offered annually.
