SPED 215 - Advanced Cross-Age Peer Mentoring

(3 credits)
This course will further develop the practice and understanding of contextual cross-age peer mentoring for students currently in the role of mentoring youth in schools, community programs, non-profits and other initiatives involved in serving children, adolescents and young adults. The course will help students practice skills and strategies as they work in the context of a mentoring relationship with public school students. The course will prepare students for the mentoring they will do in future careers in public schools or non-profit youth organizations. The course is speaking intensive, including the presentation of data and action research to peers and officer of schools and non-profit organizations. Offered fall and spring semesters.
