PHIL 216 - Values and Technology(3 credits) Prerequisite: One 100-level, three-credit course in philosophy or CRIT 111 The development and application of modern technology have influenced human choices, self-understanding, and social organization. This course will examine the value implications of controversies such as reproductive technologies and choice, censorship and privacy on the Internet, DNA research and its applications, advertising in the classroom, and monopoly control of communication technologies.
