ECED 430 - Mathematics Education for All PK-2 Learners

(3 credits)
Prerequisite: ECED 342 and ECED 361 and ECED 375
Corequisite: ECED 414 and ECED 421 and ECED 451

This standards-based course will engage students in learning developmentally appropriate methods of teaching mathematics to a wide range of PK-2 learners. Students will create, critique and implement developmentally appropriate mathematics lessons and units, making mathematics accessible to all PK-2 learners. Students will be introduced to mathematics practices and they will learn to integrate technology and literacy strategies into their instruction. This course prioritizes equity-based, culturally responsive practices that are designed to reduce bias in teacher practice. Offered fall and spring semesters. (Formerly ECED 352)
