PHIL 225 - Philosophy of Art(3 credits) Prerequisite: One 100-level, three-credit course in philosophy or CRIT 111 This course examines philosophical questions arising in connection with the identification, interpretation and evaluation of art and its creation and questions such as: What is art? Is there a valid way to distinguish art from non-art and good art from bad art? Are there ways to establish the meaning of a work of art, or is all interpretation subjective?
