The psychology of women critically examines the construction of gender in society and how it affects individual women and their experiences as a group. Throughout the course, emphasis will be placed on how gender intersects with other socially constructed identities such as sexual orientation, race and class. Students will build upon and integrate their knowledge of the major subfields of psychology as they make connections between everyday experiences, psychological theories and research relevant to women. Offered annually.
